ICARUS Go live 2020 – start of commissioning phase

The ICARUS mission for satellite-based animal tracking is reaching its next milestone: The ICARUS antenna on ISS will start its commissioning phase on Tuesday March 10th , after switch-on at 10 a.m. by RSCE (S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia)(S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia) in Moskau. Shortly after, we will be able to see first “housekeeping” data, expected to show that the system and communication works properly. In the afternoon, we will further be able to receive the data collected that day by the ICARUS antenna. The first trackable SpaceTech flyover of the ISS will be on March 11th at 0:28 a.m. This event will be tracked automatically by SpaceTech’s test ground station.
